Fabric Expansion Joints

Fabric Expansion Joints often finds application to compensate movements caused due to fluctuations in temperature and pressures in piping systems.

They are usually used where the flow medium is dry and pressure is low.

FEJ’s are widely used in fields which include Exhaust ducts, Cement plants, Coal mills, Dust collector units, Flue gas ducts, Pre-heater inlet and outlet, Vibration compensation etc.

Bolster/Insulation pillows are often supplied along with fabric belts for high temperature applications.

Insulation pillow/ bolster ensures that the temperature at the gas seal membrane does not exceed its capability. Bolster is constructed with ceramic felt/ needle mat wrapped in a high temperature ceramic cloth often combined with wire mesh.

We can supply FEJ’s in circular and rectangular configurations for temperature up to +1200˚C and Pressure up to 2000 mmWC.

FEJ’s can be made from various woven fabrics coated or laminated with selected elastomers to suit the requirements.

They have almost no reactive forces and requires little space and can accommodate combination of movements.
